The village of Elhovo is located in southern Bulgaria only a few kilometres from the town of Nikolaevo. Nikolaevo is a town and a municipality which includes 4 settlements with 5089 residents. It is part of Stara Zagora Province. Nikolaevo Municipality is one of the youngest municipalities in the region, established in the beginning of 1998, although the town was a administrative centre of a municipality during the 30s. Nikolaevo Municipality includes three rural settlements and the town of Nikolaevo. It is situated in the central part of Bulgaria, in the eastern part of the Valley of the Roses, between Stara Planina and Sredna Gora Mountains. The climate is temperate-continental with mild winters and fresh summers. Òhe abundance of green areas and water basins, the nearby mountains and the absence of large industrial polluters contribute to keep the environment in the municipality clean and healthy. The town of Nikolaevo is located only 2 km from important transportation routes: the sub-Balkan railway line and the motorway Sofia-Burgas. The distance to the district centre Stara Zagora is 42 km. Agriculture is an important sector in Nikolaevo Municipality. The arable land in the region is 47 241 decares, the woodland – 39 866 decares, and there are 4 352 decares water basins. Wheat, barley, sunflower, corn, tobacco and alfalfa are cultivated. There are plantations of perennial plants as oil-yielding roses, lavender, peaches, plums, vineyards and walnuts. The conditions in the region are favorable for growing oil-yielding roses and other oil-bearing plants offering real opportunities for the potential investor. The village of Elhovo stands at the foot hills of Sredna Gora Mountain, near the Valley of Roses, 5km. away from one of the biggest dam lakes of the country – Jrebchevo.
